Dr. Chongze Hu
Dr. Chongze Hu is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Alabama.
Prior to UA, he was a Postdoctoral Appointee in the Center of Integrated Nanotechnologies at Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) and an adjunct faculty of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of New Mexico.
His primary research area of expertise is computational materials/mechanics and data science. He has engaged in numerous research projects funded by DOE BES, Sandia LDRD, VBFF, and others.
His works have been published in journals including Nature Communications, Science Advances, Materials Today, Materials Horizons, npj Computational Materials, and others.
Aidan Gesch
Aidan Gesch is a Senior in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Alabama.
As a Randall Research Scholar, he conducts research in the College of Engineering focused on using modern computational techniques to accelerate traditional engineering problems.
Aidan is also a leader in UASpace, the University's premier CubeSat design team, where he serves as the Licensing Director and member of the Tracking, Telemetry, and Control subteam.
Aidan is responsible for communication between the satellite and the ground during the BAMA-2 mission.
After graduating with his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from UA, Aidan plans to pursue a career developing the technology that will support human spaceflight during the return to the Moon and journey to Mars.
